Rare and strange are these days we are in. A bewildering landscape of barren streets and social distancing. We are feeling the effects of Saturn’s heavier aspects of restriction and confinement. Being told to stay home, self isolate, view your fellow humans as potential threats, while all in an effort to contain an unseen toxic “traveler”, has a lot of us on edge and feeling psychologically uprooted.
With this hopefully short term reality upon us, we still have a choice in how to respond to it. Understanding human nature and human responses, especially in times of fear and anxiety, can help ease our own impatience should they arise. We can slow down, offer a kind word, some assistance, or whatever may feel appropriate.
What is essential is that we work with the energy and strive to direct it consciously in ways that are constructive, productive and compassionate. Right after the Sun enters Aries and Saturn enters Aquarius, we have two power house energies meeting in a transformative conjunction: Mars and Pluto. To enhance its effect, the New Moon in Aries launches us forward.
Conjunctions represent a new cycle of how the involved energies will work together for the duration of the orbit of the faster moving planet, in this case, Mars. This would represent a cycle of two years starting on Monday March 23. The New Moon in Aries the following day will magnify this energy substantially, also given that Mars is the ruler of Aries.
The potential for cruelty and competitiveness to get ahead, or a deep transformation and empowerment of our vital energetic body is there, both operating as doors or pathways to explore. I would pay particular attention to the inner cultivation of our divine masculine. Collectively and individually, this may be something that will need healing and love. The New Moon is also conjunct Chiron “The Wounded Healer”, drawing out deep issues to the surface and asking for acceptance and psychic integration.
The week starts off with the Moon in watery and emotional Pisces, just as Saturn takes its place in Aquarius. And so it seems this is also reflected in this weeks reading. Let’s have a look.
Whenever the King of cups shows up, he always brings a message about the importance of self-love. He has shown up to start the week off after a rather turbulent and emotional week. His appearance also distinctly reflects the Saturnian principle that is now slowly making itself known to us.
If you were experiencing some chaos or instability, this week offers you a sure footing and a good foundation from which to reestablish a healthy framework. You may still feel caught up with things outside of your control. However, you are not willing to let yourself get swept away in a current or sea of fear.
In your understanding of the emotional climate around you, the observations you are making feed your awareness of the bigger picture and you can see the implications of things. You are able to act with more certainty and integrity because of the authority you have stepped into and accepted.
An example of this would be that you are required to set some structure or boundaries at home, now that there could be more people bumping into each other due to the current “stay at home” guidelines. You could be a parent who is also working from home, with compounded duties to fulfill.
Looking for a productive outlet to having either a lot of extra free time or just an increased work load is what this may be suggesting. Productivity means focusing on that which uplifts our spirit and feeds off of inspired action that is not affected by adverse circumstances.
Given these experiences, maintaining some emotional detachment from various sources of anxiety or fear, will help to navigate you towards the unknown. You may be doing this for yourself or for someone else. Whatever the case may be, stepping into our own authority about what we deem to be a positive or negative influence, can help calm down our perception of lack and a reaction to any distress that there will not be enough. Most importantly, our example of such leadership will instil this positive approach in others.
In approaching our lives with purpose and forethought, we seed an intention of sustainability. We may at times think nothing special is taking hold. However, I can assure you that that is never the case. Momentum takes over and you will be able to have less involvement in distractions that would otherwise deplete you.
Take heart because, as the week comes to a close, you will have gained significant ground on projects and tasks either assigned to you or delegated by you. In articulating your needs or expectations verbally, you create the environment for a successful outcome. The elements you wished to set straight, that you endeavoured to work cohesively, are doing so by the leadership you set forth.
The King of Cups is a compassionate energy. Here he is looking through to the other side. He is visualizing success. He imagines himself as participating in the very creations he has set forth. He can smell the summer grass in winter. He can eat on the terrace of his unbuilt house.
He is lost and found in his gaze out toward the open sea. He is in the centre of his dream; the dream holds him in its centre. Rise above the distraction, the illusion and noise. Everything comes together at the most perfect time – for him, and for you.
