The way of grace is a beacon of light, a messenger of blessings, and guidance to a new pathway. This week, we are being shown an opening and a new way of responding to life that has the potential to lead us to many wonderful things. The question becomes, can we let it in enough so as to change our preconceptions about an outcome?
The Moon card ends this week’s reading, and funnily enough, we approach a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Saturday October 28. I find this a very synchronistic and beautiful connection to the cards. I would offer that the key to unlocking the meaning of this eclipse may be found in the Ace of Cups. We already had a New Moon Solar Eclipse on October 14 in Libra which is still ringing out vibrations of something new coming to the forefront.
To be more technical, that Solar Eclipse was highlighting the South Node of the Moon’s orbital pattern. This node is the releasing of the old paradigm and excreting or shedding what no longer serves us. The upcoming Full Moon Eclipse on October 28 will be in Taurus and will pass over the North Node. This describes an entry point into our lives and represents an ingestion of new energy. So, we are having an opening on a release point, and a culmination on an opening point. Confusing?
This is the magic of eclipses. Ultimately they dance around the same themes of “release” and “invite”. Sometimes they happen very fast, and at other times, more gradual at revealing the Universe’s plan for our advancement. What may be of most value to us at this time is to pay attention to the subtleties or nuances of these two themes in our lives. We should look to overarching patterns to see how best to apply our nourishing attention. If we find that too much is happening at once, saying some small intentions of surrender can place us in a calmer state where we can find more grounding.
The message in this reading suggests a very loving and calming presence. The Ace of Cups is the grace that enters our lives and fills our cup with love. The blessing that comes to us now speaks of a new pathway ahead where we have what we need and more. It is a feeling that is unmistaken and highlights the profoundness of simplicity.
The appearance of the King of Wands tells us that the Ace has given us a lot of clarity about our purpose and where we see ourselves in the future. What better card than this king to show us our ability to harness the blessings of the Ace. He is responsible and aware, and understands the larger picture. In lieu of the king, if we were to have a page or another card describing a youthful apprentice for example, we wouldn’t have as much maturity or experience in applying ourself.
Because we move directly from an Ace to a King, this suggests that what we are discussing is a matter not new to us. In fact, it is probably something we have been working through for some time. That is why I suggested that the Ace is a key. It is giving us some kind of tool or opportunity, some type of shift which allows the king to be effective in his actions.
This is all rather bold to say. Like all things in life, we can witness things in greater or lesser degrees. What is clear is that we can always apply ourselves to the best of our abilities. However, if we lack the grace and connectivity to Source energy, our efforts will always be mundane or worldly, serving only our basic needs. Once we add Spirit to the equation, we become filled with the multi-dimensional qualities of creation. We see our growth as an evolution in consciousness, rather than an attempt at securing positions of influence. This is perhaps what the king comes to understand here.
What is Spirit? What is that wild, dark, shadowy, intuitively crazy aspect of ourselves that has become stirred? The Moon is impartial; she simply asks us to look. Here, sunlight is reflected back to us from the lunar surface. Our subconscious becomes filled with murmurs, rustling leaves, and the howling of our instinctual desires and wisdom.
Fundamentally, when we reach into the cosmos and into the light of Spirit, we go equally as deep into the depths of our psyche. Eclipses take us far past our quantum limitations. It is a time for stretching past barriers and dissolving psychological patterns. We are being taken into new territory, and with that comes fear, guilt, shame, and even rage. It is the oracle we must consult in order to understand the illusory hold these phantom voices have on us.
If you can remain as impartial as the moon, you will not get swept away by the tides of emotion. The beauty of this card is to understand your wild and free lifeline to what is unmistakeable about you. What you learn about yourself is vast and timeless, beyond logic and intellect. You are being asked to reemerge from this lunar realm cleansed from her restorative pools and more in touch with your pure positive potential. Now, look around, and with a wise loving touch, be the change you wish to be.
Affirmation: I place myself into the hands of Spirit and give thanks for this moment of grace. I believe in my ability to positively create my future. With folded hands, I pass through to the other side of what I only thought possible. I am beautifully arising like the Full Moon over the vast ocean.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
