When we are confused, run down and unsure about our life, we can feel cut off from solutions. There’s a lull in momentum, a low point. We may sink into the sensation of being on the bad end of the stick or of even feeling victimized or taken advantage of. While these are all important things to be aware of, they are also a clue to take some time to go within and reorient oneself to our inner compass.
This week’s reading suggests to us that right now, it’s all a bit too much. Yet, there is a pervasive theme of assistance and guidance. We are being looked after and gently prodded to keep going despite feeling overwhelmed. Life sometimes gives us opportunities for growth that we only appreciate fully later.
Today, I was asked to substitute for a teacher at a construction school and found myself talking to a student about what was valuable in the tedious task she was doing. She was painting some wainscotting with black paint on top of a lighter coloured wall. It would be a challenge for a seasoned painter. To heighten her anxiety, she had the most beaten up paint brush to use for such a delicate task.
I told her, hopefully without too much philosophical pretension, that she was learning how bad something could turn out when it’s not done in the right order and with bad tools. I offered her the perspective that, later, if she should do this task again with a high quality brush and half the size, she would appreciate what she learned today. I said that it was about valuing one’s experience, the proper tool, and the satisfaction that would be felt at doing it properly based on her own vision, not what was imposed on her. I asked her to see the exercise as an experiment, rather than a work of art.
The 6 of Coins is the gift we are ready to receive. It gives us the ability to cope and to continue. In the 5 of Cups, we are again being encouraged to leave our fears behind and to keep going; to find and appreciate what is working well and base our future energy on that productive perspective. The 10 of Wands, although perhaps burdensome, teaches us the value of duration and perseverance.
You have come a long way, and indeed, you are at the cusp of completion. I offer that this journey will yield immense rewards in terms of value, both of your ability to apply yourself to a myriad of expressions, and of what you determine to be of value. That means discerning what and who to be involved with, and why. You don’t simply want to live; you want to live rightly. Have the courage to see behind the veil of any challenge to see how to make it valuable for yourself. If you need help, just ask. Then see how it all unfolds for you.
Affirmation: I believe in myself. I have the ability to transform a barren landscape into a field of abundance. I will do my best to see the best of where I am right now and to make every situation work for me. I am a productive partner with the Universe.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
