Your Week Ahead: April 21 to 27, 2025 – Redefining Definitions

The Hanged Man, Page of Swords, and The Chariot, from the Erenberg Tarot deck.

Action is the movement from stasis into the unknown. It is clarity and inspiration fused with desire. It is the confidence in knowing that, despite the outcome, one can move ahead. Sometimes one step at a time, sometimes with quick agility. Whatever the case may be, there is enough information to work with so that the future can be molded through our effective participation with it.

Before we can get the ball rolling, we might need to come to terms with things that aren’t producing the results we want. The Hanged Man represents the time before our rebirth. We are pulled down deep within ourselves. We feel bound up and stuck, as if forced to look at something. And yet we might have done so willingly.

However, being in this uncomfortable position does bring some flashes of insight. As the blood rushes to our head and we see things “upside” down, we are looking at things (or need to) differently.

This is a time to investigate, to understand our motives, and accept non-action as the most productive, perhaps strategic, position to take. Something is about to surface, or perhaps be revealed – an answer to our question to glimpse what can be next. This very much has to do with what will yield the best outcome. If we continue to act while producing the same results, we will thwart our future progress. If something continues to happen in our lives, we need to ask ourselves direct questions about what we are doing to get these same results.

There is a cleansing of the soul taking place, a redemption, a sacrifice. The sacrifice of action is felt as powerlessness because we have been trained that success is something we have externally conquered. Success means nothing on our deathbed when we see that we have only bulldozed our way through people and circumstances to get what we want.

When this period of feeling upside down has given us its fruit, we will naturally feel as though we are being untied; that we can come down off the Tree of Life to which we are bound. But before we can get going, we will need some time to adjust to our new insights. The Page of Swords describes how we aren’t interested in anything bold right now. We simply need to reside our new mindset.

Playing around with ideas, brainstorming, having fun with new possibilities is how we can progress here. Don’t be afraid of what may be unfolding. Rather, be curious. Let the new pulsations of initiation murmur for the moment. When we take ourselves forward, it is important to build upon what we know. Our confidence is important now as is our will. But they are fragile, soft and tender, as new skin freshly healed under the bandage of our investigations.

And then, as our energy grows, so too our grasp on the reins of action. Here, The Chariot emerges, tall and grand, confident and clear minded. There is momentum and a propensity to achieve our goals. The formulation of our objectives within the vessel of clarity can produce a new paradigm of experiences, free from past references.

This week’s reading describes moving toward our goals and desires in a mature and mindful manner. We know where we would like to go but we also sense that we need to do things differently and let our past definitions be redefined. We can’t get to that new place if we are using the same language to describe it. Language is often inherited from other people. Letting that part of our past go gives us that creative opportunity to use different words and think about ourselves in a new and fresh light. Then, get up – and go for it.

Happy New Moon in Taurus on April 27!

Affirmation: I wait. I am patient. I calmly reside within the sanctuary of my mind. I can see myself differently. I can use better language. I slowly arise when the time is right. I move with purpose. I am embodying my purpose. I am right on time. I am right on track. Here I am; I am here.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
