Your Week Ahead: August 16 to 22, 2020 – Patience Is Our Virtue

Temperance, 6 of Wands, and Kings of Cups, from the Rider Waite-Smith tarot deck.

When we know where we’re headed, we also have a choice about how to make that journey a joyful and impeccable one. Sometimes, we are shown a clear trajectory with the future uncertain. At other times, the way there can be uncertain, or the way we ought to begin is in question.

If we know that we are going to be well supported and guided (the 6 of Wands), and feel positive about our life direction at this time, then we can look to see how that energy ultimately impacts our environment, inner or outer. A positive result at the end of the week, showing itself to us here as the King of Cups, is definitely describing something that has matured within us.

What I see here is a journey that is successful and that reaps the rewards of our commitment to creating the best possible outcome. So, where we must focus our attention is the beginning of the week and the message that Temperance is bringing to us.

Temperance is the art or skill of impeccability. It is an innate understanding of how cooperative elements come together and the timing behind that skill. Here, we need to work at a slower pace. We have what we need in terms of ingredients, but something is lacking. The result is either not quite ready or needs reevaluation and reassessment.

Whatever has occurred prior to this point has probably been met with challenges. One part of us is in one place while another element is in another. A certain plan of action is not working well because something about it doesn’t fit. Or, perhaps something is just taking a while to sort itself out as we understand what exactly that “sorting” is about.

We’re coming to information and what we learn is transforming our understanding about where we are and how we would like to meet our intended target. It is the perfect place to be actually. We are afforded the time necessary to edit our draft and eliminate any extraneous baggage that drags the project down.

The expression, “less is more” could properly describe this process. Efficiency and purity of a delineated idea articulated in some form is what separates valuable work from common work. What you are after is something unique and personal which communicates to the core of people.

The planet Uranus has just stationed retrograde on Saturday August 15 which takes the energy of creative power inwards. This retrograde station could very well move stagnant elements that might allow some progress to emerge. Directly at this time, the Sun and Mercury form a conjunction in Leo and both make an exact trine to Mars in Aries. This is the articulation of a clear, well studied and researched idea that is ready to emerge with the power of one’s desire and purpose.

This is a strong combination of energy with one’s identity very much involved. With Uranus in the mix, it is essential to be mindful of how we express ourselves. We want to create, not obliterate. Venus will make a sextile to Uranus at this time, perhaps softening our approach but also very much directing us toward feeling our way towards our self expression.

Venus can pull us back into our bodies during this period of increased intellect and extroverted communication. Her contact with Uranus suggests that she is smiling favourably on our creation and our progress. It is a message that says, “your success is my success”.

If we can strive to harness this interior reconfiguration, we will emerge as one who is not only ready to reveal our talents, but one who has genuine confidence in our worth and value. What we bring to the world is not so much about our product but by our example.

The King of Cups has laid an authentic foundation for himself to operate from. He holds one of the cups from the Temperance card, while holding a symbol of his authority in the other, which seems to have transformed from the other Temperance cup.

We must ensure that what we create is authentic and personal. It must reflect our deepest self. This is what we bring to the world; this is our light that we shine. This is what grounds us, stabilizes us, and connects us. It is our anchor in a world that ebbs and flows, and sometimes surges.

What we create must not remain hidden. It must emerge and have life. It must be allowed to change us and to invite the opportunities we have dreamt of. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Life is beautiful because of its imperfections. And life is beautiful because we have allowed it to flow through us and to be expressed.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
