Your Week Ahead: October 29 to November 4, 2023 – Sacred Drifting

7 of Cups, The Hanged Man, and 7 of Pentacles, from The Original Rider Waite Tarot Pack.

What precedes us is a shifting, illusive landscape, intangible in its magic, profound in its emptiness, radiant in its luminosity. We cannot say our visions don’t exist or have life; they arise out of the play of duality, of pushing and pulling, of contrast and of our e(nergy in )motion.

We are, in a sense, always creating ourselves. From the moment we awake in the morning, we get to decide what we focus on and what to give life to. Despite occasionally feeling otherwise, we can choose how to respond so that any building information that gets attached to our early thoughts are positive and productive. Even if we are unsure of something, nourishing our minds with healthy self-talk can produce just the kind of direction we need.

The “fear of all that is possible” is a general theme of the 7 of Cups. So much is stirred within our imagination that we create endless scenarios as our monkey-mind jumps from one anxious subject to another. The key here is to be aware that you are jumping through these scenarios. That is a very basic definition of meditation: the act of observing.

Once we get that awareness, a kind of detachment sets in. We can aid this by intentional breathing and knowing HOW you are breathing. Regular breathing brings a rhythmic flow and allows for tension to pass through us rather than getting locked in.

The outcomes that surface are indeed a valuable source of information as they can reveal where we may be holding ourselves back. However, they are not inherently defining us. They indicate something that we can work with. Breathing through tension, acknowledging how we feel, and telling ourselves that we have the ability to create something we truly want, is what this week’s reading starts us off with.

Energy seems to have enlivened us and shook our imagination. This often happens when we have expanded beyond a mental barrier. The possibility of something happening is now offering new definitions of who we think we are. The implications of those possibilities is now the food for the imagination, our excitement and our anxieties. The Hanged Man comes along and keeps us there, suspended in our flashes of insight and helps us see things from a completely new perspective.

We are drifting, exploring, considering, and understanding the beauty of our growth. What is important here is to value this time of inaction. There are things to consider, yes. There is also an opportunity to let things settle down a bit so that we aren’t reacting to any of these anxieties that we are observing.

All things take time, and it is prudent that we appreciate the wisdom that arises now in our expanded reality. This is the gift of The Hanged Man. It is also the message we receive in the 7 of Pentacles. We may think nothing is happening or that things aren’t moving fast enough. If we step back just a bit and see how connected we truly are to our intentions, we ground ourselves in that rich fertile garden.

Things ARE growing. It may feel slow right now but keep going. You are being given a valuable opportunity to witness your present circumstances through the eyes of Spirit. “When” you get to a “place” is not as important as how you get there. The “how” is about your creativity and your ability to choose how to respond, and to appreciate the amazing work you do everyday towards your cherished goals. If you want your future to be happy and prosperous, find ways right now to feel that happiness and prosperity. What precedes your physical reality is a vibrational reality. Fill it with love and appreciation, surrender the rest and watch what happens. My bet is that it’s going to be pretty awesome.

Affirmation: I allow my dreams and wishes to become alive. I observe them freely without restraint nor judgement. This is a creative time for me and I like knowing that I have all the time I need to sort things out. What I learn about myself reassures me of my talents and abilities. The growth and abundance that surrounds me is a beautiful indication of my connection to Spirit. My path is blessed.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
