Your Week Ahead: November 5 to 11, 2023 – Living An Adventure Tale

The Chariot, 2 of Coins, and Ace of Cups, from the Edmund Dulac tarot.

Last weekend, I visited a small village and stumbled upon a unique and abundantly filled occult store. I was perusing their vast library of oracle and tarot decks when one caught my eye and pulled me towards it. Something felt so right about it, that despite having no knowledge of the deck, its artist, nor the ability to look anything up on my non-data equipped “stupid” phone, I bought it knowing it was going to be good.

I find some of the illustrations a little bit on the dark colour spectrum, but something about its dreamy quality is really unique. It lends a flavour to the tarot that takes me deeper into its meanings. I also appreciate that it is not overly feminine. I find that a lot of decks cater to women, leaving men struggling to find something to relate to.

Having said that, this deck has a large number of illustrations depicting women. However, it is presented in such a way that it feels like moving through an art gallery. Observing various cards places you inside their subtle perspective without taking away your own. This gives one the opportunity to freely work with our inner feminine and masculine archetypes as we endeavour to balance our psyche and find wholeness in our centre. I hope you enjoy this deck as I work with them over the coming weeks!

In a wonderful way, we are starting off this week with a kind of focus that emanates from within. We are experiencing a rejuvenated relationship to our identity and energy expenditure. The Chariot represents our ability to gather our inner resources and skill so that we may be highly efficient in obtaining our desired result.

Here, we feel very much in charge and confident, and seem to be moving quite quickly. Others may even find it difficult to keep up. Despite the path covered with mist and being lit only by the moon, we know where we are going. We bring together disparate circumstances using our intuition and, through a collected self, we affirm what we know and express ourselves clearly.

The middle of the week suggests a slowing down of effort, bringing our attention inwards. The 2 of Coins is connected to the High Priestess. So, we get to evaluate something through our ability to assess our self worth. This might describe a consideration for the next phase of a project and our role within it. The Chariot may have taken us to a point where we can progress to the next step. It’s a gentle card so it doesn’t appear that anything drastic takes place. Rather, we are asking questions and seeing what information comes to us.

The image shows a maiden in a cave by the sea listening to a seashell. She reaches out as if expressing her need for something more. This card’s connection to the sea is a beautiful segue to the Ace of Cups where we see a ship sailing on a calm sea with all sails full with wind. A very clear depiction of a new beginning and with Spirit’s providence.

Perhaps this maiden feels that she is more than she is currently expressing herself as. Or, that she wants to build on her achievements by allowing Spirit to fill her with blessings and guidance. She wants to be on that ship, that is clear, and that is indeed the story.

This week, know that you have what it takes to succeed. You seem so effortless in your abilities that you no doubt surprise others with your movement and skill. Now, take some of that momentum down a couple of notches so that you can receive a message about what’s next for you. Remember that these messages also evolve over time, so embrace what comes next and be curious about the future without too hard of an expectation. The sea brings with it so many wonderful new adventures. Let the horizon be filled with the optimism of your heart and laugh along the way knowing all is blessed.

Affirmation: It’s refreshing to feel my confidence and certainty find their place in my experience. With this period of balance and collected aspiration, I seek to connect to the unknown by building on what I know and what I desire. I let Spirit fill those intentions with the blessings of the wind so that I am led to all that is prosperous and wonderful.

(It’s my 50th Birthday on Friday, so, it’s my ship and I can sail if I want to!)

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
