Your Week Ahead: December 16 to 22, 2024 – Crossing Over

6 of Swords, The Sun, and 5 of Cups, from the Erenberg Tarot deck.

Turbulent waters may have been troubling us recently. Sometimes it’s hard to know how to make sense of it all and how to push through it when the emotions are involved. Other’s emotions, our own, and the dynamics that get caught between them can leave us feeling confused and raw.

Emotions are occasionally good key indicators because they reveal how we feel. However, we need to ground the emotions and determine what is a passing event and what is reoccurring. If we find that patterns are starting to develop, then finding calm constructive ways to address it will help to steer ourselves through it.

The other side of our emotions can also cloud our judgement and we can easily overreact, blowing things out of proportion. Sometimes, things aren’t always as they seem. Of course, it’s so easy to write about it and quite a different story when one is in it.

When you mix a Full Moon’s energy into the equation, these aspects get amplified as the moon’s energy can exaggerate and distort what we see and feel. Like a wave, there is a build up and a crest. Then as the Full Moon passes, the wave breaks and the waters normalize.

A good approach to handling things would be to take on a compassionate view. No one is perfect. We all have something that we are going through. The pressures of the world, of relationships, and of life can push people into very tense corners psychologically.

This doesn’t mean we excuse abusive behaviour. It means that we add mindfulness and awareness of the human condition, and try to put understanding into our reactionary process. This can help to adjust our lens so that we aren’t seeing this solely through our own viewpoint.

The 6 of Swords describes the movement from one state to another. We are leaving the rough waters that the suit of swords can stir up, and moving to calmer waters. This can mean some kind of travel that helps to change the environment. It can also represent help of some kind, such as assistance from a caring friend or family member. Our worries and stresses are eased and we can find some clarity and footing again as we leave the Full Moon’s energy behind (even as portrayed in the card).

Indeed, we come to the warmth and openness of The Sun. We are received with open arms, we are provided for, and life takes on a joyous and positive tone. We feel lighter about things and a sense of play permeates our environment. Maybe things weren’t so bad after all. Life is about the interplay of dark and light, knowing and unknowing, awareness and confusion, and assertion and reflection.

Again, this doesn’t mean we forget everything like an abused animal waiting for the next slap. We don’t identify with the victim label, and so we don’t see ourselves as being confined to something that is unhealthy for us. In our calm awareness, the truth is revealed and the path becomes clear.

The 5 of Cups represents that kind of clarity, and that kind of devotion to our truth. It’s a turning point between what was not working and what is. It’s a deep breath as we look back to something we expected to continue in a certain way.

Perhaps something about the past is just not quite up to par. We may or may not leave something entirely behind; we may simply accept that we can’t change it and so our attachment is released. If our attachment to something has caused us some confusion, then acknowledging that things are as they are will help us to understand our relationship to it.

This will help to move about in a manner that is more flowing and less troubled by expectation. If we can do this and remain constructive about where we are going, then we can walk well on our path. If we sense that we are not valued, or that something is diminishing us, then we can make a choice about that as it is presented to us.

For the moment, take it gently and let the universe guide you to the warmth and clarity that’s just around the corner. If you can let go of any expectations that things must be a certain way, and if you can find appreciation and renewal as you pivot, then keep going. Many blessings await you.

Affirmation: I am led to seeing things in a new way. I get the help I need because the universe is always there for me, revealing what is true. I allow this positive energy to fill me with enthusiasm for my future where I can make the best decisions for myself.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
