Clarity is a preferred precursor to action, at least that is what most of us consciously intend. To arrive at clarity is sometimes challenging because we can find our judgement clouded by our emotions. Yes, we are involved and yes, we pay attention. However, when confronted to act, many fears and insecurities rise to the surface.
I will admit that I am rather slow to act. I like to take my time digesting information, looking at my emotional reactions to try and determine if they have merit. While others may find this tedious, I have often moved past discomfort and into clarity without rushing out the door first.
At its worst, this approach acclimatizes one to a status quo and prevents the adventurous risk taking spirit to have expression. At its best, it pierces the illusion that one must act in order to change one’s experience. Many times, the same discomfort follows one around because one hasn’t identified the underlying reasons for those concerns.
There is always information to work with. While it is vital to notice red flags in any situation, it is also important to discern the difference between what is “my material” to work on and what has nothing to do with “me”. Narcissists have a wonderful way of making one feel as if everything is our fault. They conceal, manipulate and obfuscate information, having one in perpetual states of analysis, particularly of one’s apparent faults.
In many ways, watching out for consistent patterns of behaviour can be key in determining how things seem to always come back to a similar emotional feeling. Good questions to ask oneself are: “How do I feel about myself in this situation? Do I have a vague feeling as if I am always trying to please someone, or that things are never good enough? Do I feel as though I am being kept at a certain level and ghosted when I try to express myself? Am I made to feel selfish for wanting to do things that are important to me? Do things improve for short durations only to fall back to the previous pattern?”
I have found in my personal experience that a toxic situation will have most likely presented one with a red flag at the onset. For one reason or another, we chose not to see it or chose to accept it as one of life’s fallibilities. That is not to suggest that any person deserves mistreatment because they failed to see something. Every experience is valuable. What we learn about it always presents us with growth. It is an opportunity for our self esteem and our desire for something better to become tantamount in our need to act.
The suit of pentacles show a link between the growth of energy and the seeds of that growth within our self identity. Other names for this are confidence, self esteem, self worth and inner/outer resources. In this reading, we see two pentacle cards that follow a powerful instigator for change: The Magician. This means that we are creating something new and dynamic when it comes to how we feel about ourselves and the resources we generate based on those feelings.
Here, we see a wonderful creator who is exceptionally clear about what he envisions. He acts as a bridge between the heavens or metaphysical and the earth or physical. He grounds the energy of the cosmos into tangible expressions. He is telling us that we have arrived at a moment of clarity by unifying our will within the channel of cosmic creation. Said plainly, we know what we want and we feel very confident in bringing about manifested change.
The 2 of Pentacles and the Knight of Pentacles look to be a two step process. This feels like the moment we find ourselves handling something new, even psychologically, and the ability to plant those seeds into the earth through a grounded and attentive approach. The number 2 is the card of The High Priestess and contains a bit of her energy in them. So, we are in a kind of hibernating state where we are keeping our cards close to our chest, perhaps planning and meditating upon things.
The Knight is about action. He takes each suit into the world to give it life. Here, he is literally tilling the soil and planting something new to be harvested later. He is on a quest for meaning, the meaning of creating something new in the world and the parameters of his character. He is a bold spirit and has a slow and steady approach to his success.
If this is a time of action for you, this week’s reading suggests good timing. You are in a favourable position to make good on the next steps needed in order to create meaningful change. This hasn’t happened overnight and certainly not without considerable thought. This is a time to undertake an adventure. As Paulo Coelho wrote, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”.
Affirmation: There is a beautiful Sun rising. It is the illumination of clarity and of joy. I allow this light to fill my being as I open myself to cosmic energy. May the flow of this energy create the meaningful changes I desire and help me to embody more of who I want to be, of who I am.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
