Your Week Ahead: March 3 to 9, 2025 – Riding With Stallions

Knight of Wands, Knight of Cups, and Judgement, from the Erenberg Tarot deck.

Our past has a kind of hold on us. This can never really be something we erase. It’s always there in our memory. We are defined by it because we have learned some important lessons. Invariably, it the path we once took. The hold on us need not be the kind of perpetual bond that keeps us always subservient, always in a state of self-reproach and feeling incapable of beautiful experiences.

The courage we had in walking our path at that time is ultimately what we take from any adversity. Wisdom is like a diamond that has been carved and polished from such times. It is the clarity of our wisdom that shines perpetually.

Our past is sometimes our greatest teacher. Because we have moved on from the lesson, the experience of sifting through what we were given was something we strongly identified with. It’s unavoidable. We needed to make sense of things so we identified with it and brought to it our efforts to bring logic and reason, as well as emotional maturity.

If we made mistakes, forgiving ourselves is an important step in loosening the hold that the past may still have. Forgiveness is really about releasing tension, the tension of being tightly bound to the material. Once we are at peace with the “story” and what/who we were focused on, we genuinely move forward.

Perhaps it is not so much about forgiving oneself but about appreciating the wonderful person we have become as a result of that forging period. Then, forgiveness may arise toward a person or group. Whatever the case may be, a healthy future depends upon our focus toward feeling healthy towards our body, what we think and what we feel. This starts with being present in the here and now and not dragging the past along with us because we have a point to prove, or a stance to take, like a war medal or trophy.

It’s a worthwhile exercise to check in with ourselves and what we think or say about who we are. To notice when we say something that is not really true right now but may have been true in the past. It’s important to be honest and ask ourselves, “Is that really true?”

When we stop and ask questions like this, we interrupt the story we are attached to. This is energy of the Judgement card. It is like a waking up moment, a dawning to the new fresh morning. It shows how the past is brought up to the surface. But instead of the “Oh my god, my horrible past is back to haunt me”, it is a joyful surrender to the awakening and realization that the past has lost its weight. The chains and shackles fall off because we are no longer held in the grasp of its illusion.

When we wake up from a bad dream, we feel relieved because of the sensation that we are operating in a reality totally separate from that illusion. We often say, “Thank god that was only a dream!”. It is this kind of awakening that occurs. This is not to suggest that we are always in need of releasing a negative past. It is more about releasing the attachment to what we were/are overly identified with so that it doesn’t continuously define who we are.

The beautiful energies of the Knight of Wands and Knight of Cups are our efforts to take us to that awakening. They bring to us courage, bold action, an open heart, and the emotional strength needed to take us past a threshold and into the glorious future. These stallions want to take that equestrian jump, the leap of joy and faith with a mighty affirming “YES!”. These knights have understood the past, but understand more that we are not bound to it. Let us ride with them into that beautiful new day.

Affirmation: Saying “Yes” is the power of now. I have come so far and have done so well. I stand in this appreciation and acknowledge my gifts and talents. I want to take this into my future in a really positive way. So, I say “Yes” and boldly take some new steps. This is my favourable moment.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
