When we are involved with a changing environment, fear is bound to arise. There are many situations that are now coming to the surface which is causing us to ponder various outcomes, along with several emotional reactions that get played out in our feeling body. We can be asking ourselves if this is the right person or if we are projecting red flags of concern based on a past experience. We don’t want to get hurt again and we don’t want to put ourselves into the same patterns.
This can apply to a job or work environment, or being offered a special deal where a lucrative profit might be at stake. Or perhaps a property purchase might be fascinating us and pulling us deeper into the future. Whatever is taking place, our imagination is very active, along with our concerns and maybe some fear.
In the 7 of Cups, each cup contains something that is drawing our attention toward it. As the imagination is not grounded here, what takes place is intangible and airy. However, for various visions to occur, the mind must be free to explore without being earthbound. There is nothing at stake; it is merely the state of “what if” that we can and should explore. And so there is portrayed a cloud in the blue sky, giving rise to many paths to many outcomes.
Some fear is normal. We don’t ever want to shut off fear nor our awareness of potential red flags. We simply need to be aware that we are feeling them and be mindful that we are not reacting to our emotions instead of being informed by them. Being informed means we are tuned into what feels good and what doesn’t. Being informed means we have a choice about how to respond before the response is delivered.
Sitting with our emotions means owning what is taking place as an internal experience. This is our work, no one else’s. This isn’t to imply that we must be perfect emotional beings. We are human and being human requires being connected to our feelings. Where these are stirred as a result of some changes or choices, there arises the opportunity to apply our ability to work with and harness them.
Feelings have turned into more tangible properties, often with polar elements in our lives. It isn’t an “either/or” situation, but rather two elements that need to be worked with and perhaps integrated somehow. Working versus free time, for example. Addressing two sides to a financial involvement, or working within certain financial parameters and finding a balance that helps us.
This could be somewhat uncomfortable as the individual shown in the 2 of Pentacles is in kind of a dance, trying to hold on to things as best he can. The movement can be a little up and down but generally there is a flow between two aspects of a subject that is contained within helpful boundaries. The key now is to let things flow naturally and to do our best to keep a balanced perspective without forcing anything. Keep in contact with both elements and feed each with the energy and attention that it needs to keep moving.
When two aspects are in play with us, we act as the point of balance, and so there is harmony. Once force is exerted, the balancing point is disturbed and the process stopped. The energy must flow between disparate parts of the equation. We can see this clearly in the practice of Qi Qong and the exercises that allow energy flow through the Dantian.
As we attend to this movement, the 8 of Wands indicates momentum and success. It resembles a kind of wind up and release. Two things get caught in this vortex of swirling intertwined energy, which then gets released into the environment as eight wands. Once these wands fly through the sky, they crescendo and then fall to meet their target. This is the state of being completely effortless.
The 8 of Wands can represent a time where one’s intentions are met with their intended destination. One has very little to do once those intentions are released. It simply requires a state of being open and remaining positive, and letting them do and go where we have allowed them to go.
We have moved from a 7 to a 2 to an 8 series of cards. 7 to 8 is a natural progression intervened by a 2 which suggests coming into contact with healthy restraint, which is needed in order to experience a fruitful next stage of development. The ungrounded nature of the 7 of Cups on one end, with the “soon to be” grounded 8 of Wands is a lovely portrayal of our maturity in handling sensitive matters.
Also, the restraint (and one could argue restriction) of the 2 of Pentacles beside the freely set loose positivity of the 8 of Wands indicates we are moving into a healthy framework and environment where certain potentials can be given more life and probability. The message of this week is, let it arise, keep it together, then release it into the air!
Affirmation: Certain things are arising for me to consider at this time and I am considerate to myself and others as I explore all my options and how I feel about them. I work with what I am given and I enjoy the part I am being given to play as I allow good things to unfold. As I harness this energy I have in my hands, I see where I want to go and what I want to do. Using the momentum gathered, I release my visions and intentions into the sky to allow them to be free. All things are working in my favour.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
