Two sources of light in our world fill our mind and spirit with their energies this week. We are being taken on an inner journey towards balance and understanding. The path that opens could feel turbulent or shaky, but this is quickly resolved once we understand our nature and what is being called to our attention.
A striking image is shown in this week’s layout with our two dominant archetypes taking their place on either side of us: The Moon and The Sun. There are two ways of looking at this. First, as a path from one experience to the other, and second, as a block of thought.
The latter view brings in the notion of balance, where each energy feeds and nourishes us equally. This is of high importance as any imbalance of one or the other makes us either overly passive and emotional, or too dominant and active.
The link between these two cards is the 4 of Swords. So, we can see this as being somewhat deliberate about being restful and meditative. In other words, setting aside time to integrate these two aspects of our psyche will be of tremendous benefit in bringing about insights and well-being.
Having this week start off with a Full Moon is also synchronistic with The Moon card. Here, we are pulled inward and called to observe things in a manner which uses different senses. Aspects of our emotional lives are more active and we could be prone to seeing things from a skewed perspective.
The Moon’s energy is strong. Being mindful about what one is actually feeling will be key. Not everything is as it seems. Many things are amplified here. Amplification could be useful as it makes things more visible or accessible. Where mindfulness comes in is about our reaction. We can easily react based on a trigger, and those triggers have their roots in the past.
The 4 of Swords is suggesting a detached approach where we are not pulled into the negative side of The Moon’s landscape. The Moon is revealing to us our own inner qualities that need to be heard and nourished. It is our time with ourselves; it is our landscape. This kind of ownership or integrity will keep us from spilling over into projecting any issues on to other people or situations.
The appearance of The Sun warms our hearts after a period of rest, reflection and calmness. A mind that does not suppress The Moon will be one that operates more openly, freely and with less stress and anxiety in the outer world. If we push The Moon away, shadows will disturb us and lingering fears will creep into every corner and every interraction.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Our child-like innocence comes out freely and we are not pulled down by any heaviness or worry. The Full Moon’s energy will have crested, delivered its message to us, and revealed our emotional work to us. We have made time and space to integrate these surfacing images and have brought peace to them. Now The Sun greets us, shining upon us with optimism and blessings.
Affirmation: I feel a calling to come inside myself where I can bring peace to my inner world and receive its wisdom. I love having contact with this deep aspect of who I am. When I am ready, I come out to be playful and joyful so that I can be the most beautiful ME that I know I AM.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
