How can we ever hope to succeed in life or manifest our heart’s desire when we are not attentive to our boundaries? This is the question presented directly to us in this week’s reading. The foundation of our personal space and to ensure our mental and physical health is coming up for discussion, or at least review.
When we take stock of our present circumstances, whether that’s at home, in our business, or in our interactions with others, we need to observe how much authority we have over the aspects that directly involve us. How much say do we have over that space? Who makes the final decisions? How happy are we with the arrangements we are experiencing?
These are important questions to ask because it involves how you are creatively interacting with life. Our purpose is not to provide security for others, nor is it our role to ensure that people around us are happy. Security and happiness are byproducts of mutually thriving ingredients that are sustained in a balanced environment. They should be viewed as a complimentary surplus of energy. It is only from our cup that is overflowing that we are truly able to give. But it also must be completely without conditions, lest we then think of ourselves as indispensable to others, only to instate our authority and consequently others’ dependancy upon us.
If one side feels a lack of any kind and seeks it outside of one’s self, then that perspective is concerned with obtaining something they feel they cannot create for themselves. Thus it is not in a position to contribute, only to demand. This can be emotional as well as financial. The way many of us approach this situation as it is presented to us is to make compromises.
In very small amounts, this is perfectly normal and a part of life. However, when it becomes chronic, then it becomes a paradigm of our inability to articulate our expectations and our boundaries.
The Emperor is a master of his domain. Due to his vision and authority, represented by the Eagle and the Lion, he not only anticipates the future and sustainability of his kingdom, he ensures it by embodying the principles of a safe and secure environment.
As he looks toward the 4 of Swords and the 4 of Coins (all directly related to The Emperor and his themes of foundational well-being), he is attentive to ensuring that his home is well looked after, quiet, and safe for him to relax and feel restored in. He is also looking to ensure that his affairs are in order, not just for the present but for the future as well. A king that is in debt will always be weak and will require other more powerful institutions to have influence over him, and thus compromise his rule and the safety of his subjects to which he has pledged his devotion.
More simply put, take time to feel grounded in your intentions and be attentive to the boundaries of your personal space. Know your heart and listen to what it needs. Don’t be afraid to state your terms. It is through your self respect that others’ respect for you follows.
You may decide that you need to work or live alone now and be independent. You may need to affirm some arrangement so that you can continue to feel in charge of your life direction. There is also the potential for financial success here. However, if you don’t understand the importance of energetic boundaries, then the potential exists that other circumstances or people will deplete your resources.
Take care of yourself first; others need to do the same for themselves. Establish a plan based on your vision. Create a space for you to operate fully as an individual. Live in harmony with your heart’s purpose and don’t be afraid to declare it to others. You are not accountable to them, only to yourself. It is ultimately your responsibility to your person that determines your contribution to anything outside of you.
Affirmation: I enjoy discovering what I like and need so that I can feel safe, secure and at peace. I do this for myself because I enjoy the clarity that ensues. I celebrate my space, my resources, and my success.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
