Challenges change us, they propel us further and farther, perhaps more than we thought possible. How we work with challenges differentiates us from others. The separating principle can be found in viewing the situation as one that ultimately serves our character as well as our purpose. If we edge on the side of caution and avoid the opportunity to gather courage and our inner resources, then we will back down until another opportunity arises to apply ourselves to.
However, it seems by this week’s reading that we have that determination and are eager to apply it to some situation we are in currently. The 7 of Wands shows this quality of rising up to challenges, proving one’s self and not getting swept away in defeatism. Not only does it represent our ability, but also our success. The energy here is positive and it gives us power and confidence as we prove to ourselves that we can do what is needed.
The transition to the 2 of Wands into the middle of the week, to me suggests inner reflection. The phrase, “if I can do this, I can do anything” comes to mind. The world is open to us, and because of our confidence, it has just become a whole lot bigger, for we are no longer predetermined to follow a path that we once thought would be our reality. Moving past limitations takes courage, but it also removes the psychological barriers that have engrained themselves habitually into our minds.
The notion of confidence and self-worth also shows up with The Lovers in this reading. Our life trajectory and how we view our world changes when we contact our unified self. In an un-unified state, our energy is distracted and prone to dualism, being knocked off its centre and constantly looking to others to fill roles or to give us what we are lacking. Alternatively, we can open the way by making choices that have fed from our inner harmony. How we value ourselves will always be a determining factor of how we relate to others and our experiences.
Everything is a mirror of our self respect. The path to this inner life sometimes takes time because not everything is revealed instantaneously. We cannot always grasp or digest what is taking place and why certain people behave the way they do toward us. Very often the answer is never answerable because we can only be responsible for our own actions.
The most important thing to realize is that you have yourself, and you have pulled through and past an idea of what was possible. The choices you make are now based on something new and fruitful. You can now set these choices on criteria that feel more alive and fresh. Let yourself feel whole and integrated, and if you choose to engage with the world based on that beautiful foundation, your success will feel all the more wonderful, and what’s more: authentic.
Affirmation: I can rise to the occasion today. I know that I have the ability to do what needs to be done. I see myself as a successful individual. When I see things this way, I feel more curious and willing to do more things than I thought possible. As my world expands and as I grow, I take myself into my future as the beautiful strong and vibrant person I know myself to be.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
