Your Week Ahead: July 17 to 23, 2022 – Letting Things Ripen

2 of Swords, 4 of Pentacles, and 3 of Cups, from the Rider Waite Smith tarot deck.

When caught between opposing views or even a multitude of options, it is understandable that confusion arises. There appears to be many options available but which direction to take? How can we know what is the truth? Within this state, we can feel cut off from knowing what action to take, and more importantly, why to take it.

The key to working with the 2 of Swords is not to force anything. The moment we push too hard, we lose our balance and can fall back off our seat and let slip our precarious grasp on the two swords that, for the moment, cross our heart centre.

It is a time to wait. More information is coming. Our eyes are covered suggesting that what we could be seeing is not actually correct. The calm nocturnal waters and crescent moon pull our awareness inwards where we can rest our mind and let things be.

It is not so much a calling towards intuition as it is a need to reduce our analytical mind. In our meditation, we could have a very active “monkey mind” jumping from one story or option to another. Each could have repercussions that we entertain and then get fearful of or otherwise stuck on. Breathe and let it go. Understanding the mind’s activity will bring us back to our centre and will help us detach.

Whatever is occurring needs time to germinate. We need time to mentally rest in order to slowly feel our way back to truth. It is not that we have been deceived. It is more a feeling of being too aware of external perspectives. The ability to stabilize ourselves becomes evident in the 4 of Pentacles, yet we are still somewhat closed off. This shows that care is needed in this process and that it is good to take things slowly.

We are gradually opening up to possibilities, and working with the 2 of Swords and the 4 of Pentacles will ensure that we place our own well-being first. These two cards are effectively asking us to not deemphasize our value in favour of something or someone else. Coming forth gradually will allow our minds to be clear of clutter and more rooted in honesty and integrity. Our ability to communicate from this standpoint will be highly effective and rewarding.

As we let this process further ripen, we see a very joyful interaction with others in the 3 of Cups, one that is based on respect and an acknowledgment of each person’s contribution. Perhaps we just needed time to sort something out on our own first. Things may have felt more serious than they were because our fears can exaggerate potential outcomes.

Don’t be afraid to say, “I need time to think about that.” Or, “Let me get back to you.” Pressure is an illusion designed to fill in gaps of insecurity. Time is always available. Use time to your advantage and let yourself develop your own opinions.

The aspect between the 4 of Pentacles and the 3 of Cups shows how important it is to stabilize ourselves and to reaffirm our energy within our own space. We become so much more able to meet others when we feel that we have not been swept away in someone else’s vision, or in a path that we have not chosen. If we don’t, we will always conceal something and hold back from interacting openly.

Another factor to consider is about becoming too closed off from people. If we go too far to the other side of this equation where we are overly secretive, our distrust in others grows because we fear of losing ourselves in the relationship. We can miss out on very meaningful interactions. Nourishing one’s boundaries is important; becoming too concerned with protecting them can close us off. This reading is showing us how to open up more while maintaining a relaxed connection to our centre.

The people who want you around will always show up. That is the beauty of growth and the authenticity of relating. Welcoming them in and enjoying the dance of the harvest is the bond that sustains us. We are all sharing something beautiful. Yours is very much valued and welcomed.

Affirmation: I take the time I need now to come to my own conclusions. When I am ready, I will feel inspired to emerge refreshed and revitalized. This is how I want to contribute to the world, open and joyful.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
