Your Week Ahead: May 14 to 20, 2023 – Let It Open

Prince of Wands, 2 of Cups, and 3 of Swords, from the The Star Tarot created by Cathy McClelland (www.cathymcclelland.com).

When we leave behind our expectations, our demands, or any over attachment to our goals, we actually invite more possibilities into our lives. We do this by creating within us more ease and relaxation. Tension easily mounts in our focus and what the Prince of Wands tells us is let go of our worries about how it will all turn out.

The next card, being the 2 of Cups, is about opening to love and to a relationship that is loving and wholesome. It is also an inner relationship with ourselves that is fundamentally at the root of any exterior relationship. We cannot love another if do not love ourselves first. This suggests that we would do well to have less apprehension about intimacy.

When something is ripe to experience, there is the sensation of openness. Something opens within ourselves so that we make space for it with another. It’s not a deliberate act, rather one of acceptance of a natural process. Much like a flower blooms. We cannot force a flower to do anything. We can only create the conditions for something to respond.

The Prince of Wands brings his playfulness and imagination to the world. He doesn’t take himself seriously and that actually makes him more courageous than we give young people credit for. The attitude here is about enjoying life’s “what if” possibilities without judging anything. It’s about having fun with it.

This spontaneity is like a cosmic birth. Something opens up, either within or without. We get to play and create with another. Or, this “another” could be the unity we bring within. We feel balanced and harmonious, as we experience the interplay of masculine and feminine energies within. It is a pure flow of energy that opens our heart centre and moves us in gentle ways. It can be a kiss from another person, or a kiss from the wind upon our face.

When the heart opens, we receive grace from the universe. We also can become more aware of our hurts. Many people don’t understand this process and break away from people to retreat from this sensation of being exposed. We don’t want it to come out and be visible. We’re afraid of what others will think of our fallibilities. An open heart sometimes hurts. Love is pouring into a space where we have a memory of being distinctly unloved.

What is needed when this arises is simply to be present with what is felt. No attachment and no fear. Just accept the moment for what it yields and gently let it go with a deep exhale. If there is another person involved, know that if that person remains with you despite your vulnerability and holds space for you, then that person is a healthy energy to participate with.

Fundamentally, you are there for yourself. And since you are always growing and healing and letting yourself be guided by your alignment to source energy, then this opening of the heart is occurring to help allow more love and energy into your life. When we do this for ourselves, we do it for others so that unconditional love becomes the exchange of energy between two hearts surrendering to each other. This healing moment is about letting the past go, letting old hurts pass through you, and allowing the hurt to move out of your system so that you don’t continue to identify with it as a label.

This is a beautiful new beginning. Like any new energetic opening, be gentle with yourself and don’t be afraid of what surfaces. Like any memory, it is about the past, and that is where it belongs. Let the universe shower you with purifying waters and know that you are surrounded by an incredible loving cosmos.

Affirmation: I breathe in the openness and fresh air of my heart. I welcome this unfolding with peace and acceptance. I allow anything that does not serve me to be washed away so that I can be more of myself, free and refreshed.

Thanks for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week!
